EDIT&R Working Group Seeking Volunteers
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Truth and Reconciliation Working Group (EDIT&R WG) is inviting registrant volunteers to join its five new identity-based subgroups.

In the spring of 2024, Engineers and Geoscientists BC established the EDIT&R WG. This working group is dedicated to advancing organizational equity, diversity, and inclusion and Truth and Reconciliation efforts through engagement, education, and impact.

As part of its 2025 focus, the working group is seeking volunteers to join one or more of the new identity-based subgroups:

  • Women in the professions
  • 2SLGBTQIA+
  • Neurodivergent
  • New immigrant
  • Racialized people
The T&R group, which has already been initiated, will remain a permanent and essential part of the EDIT&R WG.

Requirements for Volunteers

The subgroups are identity-based, meaning that volunteers are required to self-identify with the specific community the group represents. Individuals with intersectional lived experiences are encouraged to participate in the subgroup that best reflects their identities.

Each subgroup will have eight to 15 members for 2025, with participation managed on a first-come first-served basis. Membership limits may be adjusted as the subgroups grow and evolve.

How to Volunteer

  1. To participate, registrants are required to first join the EDIT&R WG through the Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s website.
  2. Once registered, volunteers will receive an email with a link to an online form to indicate their interest in one or more specific subgroups.

All applicants will be notified of their status via email once the selection process is complete.

More Information

The EDIT&R WG webpage has more details for volunteers concerning the duties and expectations and time commitments in joining the subgroups.
