Insights from Demographic Data Coming this Fall

Since 2022, registrants have had the opportunity to complete a number of self-identification questions during Annual Reporting(AR). We are now in the process of analyzing this data and will share our findings with registrants this fall.

We would like to thank registrants for completing the optional self-identification questions. Over 70% of registrants and 80% of applicants participated, which provides enough data to be representative of our registrant and applicant populations.

This information will help Engineers and Geoscientists BC better understand demographic data trends and identify barriers that some groups may face entering and remaining in the professions. The data will also aid in developing or updating programs and initiatives to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the engineering and geoscience professions.

Demographic questions will continue to be part of the AR process. We encourage registrants to respond to these optional questions when they complete their 2024 reporting.
