New President and Council take APEGBC into 95th Year

VANCOUVER, BC - The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) has elected a new President and Council for the 2013/2014 term. The election results are as follows:

Biography of Mike Bapty P.Eng., FEC - President of APEGBC
Mike Bapty, P.Eng., FEC is a mining engineer with over 40 years of experience. Mr. Bapty is president of Bapty Research Ltd., a consulting engineering and exploration management company in Duncan, BC.
Mr. Bapty was formally inducted as President of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) on Saturday October 26, 2013 at the Association’s 94th Annual General Meeting. Mr. Bapty has been involved with APEGBC in various capacities since 1985. Previous positions with APEGBC Council include: Vice President for the 2012/2013 term, and previously as Councillor for five years.
Mr. Bapty holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of British Columbia. In 2009, Mr. Bapty was named a Fellow of Engineers Canada and in 1999 he received APEGBC’s Professional Service Award.
