Student Program Scholarship

Application Guidelines

The Engineers and Geoscientists BC Student Program Scholarships recognize undergraduate students whose volunteer, employment, or personal actions over the past year have enhanced the image of the engineering or geoscience professions. Eight scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, are awarded on the basis of a combination of factors including a student statement (25%), responses to questions about professional characteristics (25%) and advancement of the professions (25%), judges' overall impression of the application (10%), and a reference letter (15%).

Deadline

Applications and all supporting documents were accepted until 11:59 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Eligibility

  • Post-Secondary students enrolled in Engineers and Geoscientists BC's Student Program
  • Full-time undergraduate students in the current academic year (co-op students are considered full-time students and are eligible to apply).
  • Must be attending a BC post-secondary institution or must be a BC resident attending a post-secondary institution in Canada outside of BC.

A student is only eligible for one Engineers and Geoscientists BC Foundation scholarship each academic year. If you are successful in more than one Engineers and Geoscientists BC Foundation scholarship competition, you will only receive the award with the highest value.

This could include activities such as encouraging others to pursue careers in these fields, working on a publication which educates readers about engineering or geoscience topics, organizing extra-curricular activities within these professions, participating in a professional student organization, and encouraging others to participate in related activities. (Please limit your answer to 500 words)
