International Professional Engineer and APEC Engineer Registers

Effective September 2016, professional engineers registered in a Canadian province or territory will apply directly to Engineers Canada for placement on the International Professional Engineers and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Engineer registers. During this transition, Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia will no longer be accepting applications for enrolment on the registers.

Engineers Canada’s registration process will be no-cost, utilizing a self-assessment process whereby Canadian professional engineers will declare that they meet and will maintain the qualifications to be on the registers. Those wishing to join these registers will be able to apply in September 2016 and are advised to review the requirements for enrollment prior to making an application.

Professional engineers who are currently listed on the registers will maintain their status on the registers as International Professional Engineers (IntPE (Canada)) and APEC Engineers.
