Call for 2025 Annual Conference Presenters

Calling all industry experts, thought-leaders, innovators, technology experts, and professional speakers!

We are excited to announce our 2025 Annual Conference & AGM will be held in person and live streamed* on October 28-30, 2025, at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are gearing up for a premier event for engineers, geoscientists, and regulatory stakeholders across British Columbia and beyond. 2025 Conference Program

This year we are seeking submissions that will focus on innovation, technology, leadership, and communication; while supporting registrants in maintaining their competency to fulfill their duty to protect the public and the environment with respect to the practices of engineering and geoscience. Submissions should focus on the 4 core areas of learning, including: technical, ethical, regulatory, and communications and leadership aligned with the requirements of the CE Program.

Submissions should reflect and reinforce knowledge in technical, ethical, regulatory, and communications and leadership, and provide best practices, case studies, and practical knowledge to engage and inspire delegates on issues impacting the professions.

Presentations should be educational and tailored to registrants of the organization. Presentations for the purpose of promoting or selling specific products, services, or providers will not be considered.

Selection Criteria

We welcome all submissions that present information and knowledge applicable to a variety of stakeholders, though preference will be given to sessions that align with the following:

• Relevance to the 4 core areas of learning; 
• Topics that keep registrants current in maintaining their competency to fulfill their duty to protect the public and the environment; 
• Relevance and content specific to professional engineers and professional geoscientists; 
• Topics that focus on new technology and emerging areas of practice; 
• Topics that address diversity, equity, and inclusion and Indigenous reconciliation within professional regulation; 
• Presentations with proven and well-regarded speakers; 
• Practical takeaways for the audience; what will you provide them to add to their own practice (models, templates that can be implemented, etc.); 
• Presentations that focus on learning objectives and outcomes, rather than a narrative approach; 
• The degree to which the presentation is based on responsive and innovative practices; and 
• The degree to which the presentation is engaging and can be effectively delivered in-person. 

Presentations are 60 minutes in length, including time for questions and answers.

As the regulatory and licensing body for the engineering and geoscience professions, Engineers and Geoscientists BC believes that everyone has the right to be treated fairly and equitably. We are committed to developing and facilitating events that are inclusive and accessible. We work to include a variety of viewpoints and experiences in the conference program as it is critical to have events that are inclusive of all people and reflective of our society. We are seeking individuals from diverse backgrounds and are committed to providing a conference experience that respects and celebrates diversity. We are also seeking topics that address equity, diversity and inclusion and Indigenous reconciliation as it relates to the professions of engineering and geoscience.
