External Continuing Education Providers

Accreditation

Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia does not endorse nor accredit external events or third-party course offerings.

Links to these events and offerings are provided solely as a service to our Registrants and not as an endorsement of the third party, the event, or the courses offerings. Although these resources can be accessed through Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s website, they were not created and are not maintained by Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Engineers and Geoscientists BC is not responsible or liable for the content of any event or course offering, nor does it make any representation or warranty of any kind regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or suitability for a particular purpose, including meeting Engineers and Geoscientists BC Continuing Education (CE) Program requirements, of any external event or third-party course offering. Also, while the content may include discussion of legal issues, it is not legal advice and we urge you to contact a lawyer regarding such matters.

Providers may advertise their continuing education activities as offering engineering and geoscience knowledge that Registrants may consider for their Continuing Education (CE) requirements; however, it is the responsibility of Registrants to determine which CE activities are relevant to their specific circumstances and ensure that they meet Engineers and Geoscientists BC CE Program requirements.

Registrants should refer to the Guide to the CE Program for more information, as well as Table 7 for examples of learning opportunities which may qualify for CE Hours.

Promoting Events and Training Opportunities

When promoting events and training opportunities to Engineers and Geoscientists BC Registrants, third-party providers must not use language that indicates or implies that they are accredited by Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Examples of unacceptable language include: recognized, endorsed, promoted, meets, fulfills, and other wording that suggests the course will ensure compliance with applicable CE requirements.  Instead, third-party providers are to use language that directs Registrants to the Engineers and Geoscientists BC website and CE Program requirements.

Examples of acceptable language for promotional materials would be:

“Although Engineers and Geoscientists BC does not endorse or accredit providers of continuing education, attendance at this event may be eligible for Engineering and Geoscientists BC CE Hours. Engineers and Geoscientists BC Registrants should refer to the Engineers and Geoscientists BC CE Program website for full program information, including what qualifies for CE Hours and how to self-report activities.”

“Engineers and Geoscientists BC does not accredit CE offerings, but attendance at this event or course may be eligible for CE Hours. Information about Engineers and Geoscientists BC CE Program requirements can be found here: Continuing Education Program.”

Providers are advised to link to the following page for clarification: Continuing Education Program.
