Student Program

At Engineers and Geoscientists BC, we believe the future success of the professions depends on the students of today. Our Student Program allows undergraduate and master's engineering and earth science students to connect with their future professional organization. The program eases the transition from student life to your career and provides you with access to events and resources that connect you to your future. 

Eligibility 

If you are an engineering or earth science student enrolled in a post-secondary institution at the undergraduate or master's level, you are eligible to sign up to the Student Program.  

Membership in the Student Program requires a fee payment. See below for details.

To sign up as a student, you must have a user account. If you already have an account, click "Register" below and log in using your User ID and password. If you do not have an account, click the "Register" link and then select "Create new account." If you are looking to renew your registration in the Student Program, select “Renew.”

Annual Fee

$25 plus applicable taxes. 

If you are an undergraduate or master’s student in one of the following programs, your student registration fee may already be covered through your school: 

  • BCIT Engineering 
  • Langara College Engineering 
  • North Island College Engineering 
  • Selkirk College Engineering 
  • Simon Fraser University Earth Sciences 
  • Thompson Rivers University Engineering 
  • UBC Engineering (Vancouver and Okanagan campuses) 
  • UNBC Engineering 
  • Vancouver Island University Engineering and Geoscience

Scholarships 

Scholarships are available for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students pursuing studies in engineering and geoscience. The Foundation and Engineers and Geoscientists BC Branches offer several scholarships for students. 

Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training 

Learn more or apply to become an engineer-in-training (EIT) or geoscientist-in-training (GIT) after graduation. By becoming a trainee, you demonstrate to employers and the public that you are academically qualified to gain your P.Eng. or P.Geo. licence in the near future.
